CORBY CONTEST

Grade 4 March Selection (2nd)

A great sound from the pipes almost straight out of the boxes, just a little bit of fine tuning needed before we went on to the arena.

A major piping error on the break to the second tune of the set ruined what would have been our best performance in this grade as a full band to date.

Without it, it's still debateable whether we would have been good enough to take 1st place from the University of Bedfordshire - they really are an excellent band

Grade 4 March, Strathspey, Reel (2nd)

We don't like this event and are clearly not comfortable in playing it. No mistakes but neither the sound nor the playing were controlled.

2nd place gained, only by the fact there were only two bands entered :-)

Once again, 1st place went to the University of Bedfordshire.

Grade 3 Medley Selection (3rd)

As usual, this was the event we seem to enjoy playing the most and we put in a reasonable performance with not too bad a sound. With only six pipers playing it was always going to sound a little on the thin side but there were no obvious mistakes and the judges comments were complimentary for most of the performance (the jig is still causing it's usual problems, although not as much as in previous years)

Relatively pleased with this performance.

Onwards to Ashbourne next weekend
