Sound from the pipes at the start of the day was amazing - straight out of the boxes and there was a tight clean and full sound. As the tuning period went on though some sharpness crept in to the chanters and by the time of the performance the top hands were particularly thin and F's were starting to show problems.
However the performance itself was good with a clean start and end, no mistakes and, in places, some very nice playing and expression.
The performance from the drum corps was superb. What a difference it makes to the band having a full corps of five side drummers playing so well together!
